Karachi University and Meezan Bank become partners to promote
Islamic banking education
In a significant move to foster Islamic banking education,
Karachi University (KU) and Meezan Bank have signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on initiatives that will enhance the
understanding and promotion of Islamic banking principles among students and
professionals.
The partnership between KU and Meezan Bank aims to create a
platform for knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and capacity building
in the field of Islamic banking. Under the MoU, both institutions will work
together to develop and deliver specialized academic programs, workshops, and
seminars focused on Islamic finance and banking. These initiatives will cater
to the needs of students, researchers, and professionals interested in
deepening their understanding of Islamic banking principles and practices.
The collaboration is expected to bridge the gap between academia
and the industry, providing students with practical insights and exposure to
the workings of Islamic finance. By leveraging Meezan Bank's expertise and
experience as the country's leading Islamic bank, KU aims to equip its students
with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the field of Islamic

Speaking about the partnership, Dr. Khalid Iraqi, Vice
Chancellor of Karachi University, emphasized the significance of Islamic
banking education in the current financial landscape. He stated, "Islamic
banking is gaining prominence globally, and it is crucial for us to equip our
students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in this field. Our
collaboration with Meezan Bank will enable us to provide quality education and
practical exposure to our students, fostering their growth and preparing them

Mr. Irfan Siddiqui, President and CEO of Meezan Bank, expressed
his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the bank's commitment to
