SBP designates Bank of Khyber (BoK) as E-stamping agent to promote
digital services
The Bank of Khyber (BoK) and the State Bank of Pakistan
(SBP) have formalized an Agency Agreement in Peshawar, marking the commencement
of the e-stamping project and appointing BoK as the collecting agent for
e-stamping in KP.
The ceremony, attended by key officials including Ahmed
Rasool Bangash, Minister for Finance, Revenue, Excise, Taxation &
Narcotics, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and representatives from SBP, KP Government, and
BoK, solidifies the collaboration in line with the KP government’s commitment
to promoting digital services and facilitating ease of doing business in the
province.

The initiative harnesses the potential of technology,
allowing citizens in KP to effortlessly obtain stamp papers within minutes
through a streamlined process offered by BoK.
The e-stamping project will be implemented across the
province in phases, with expectations of boosting revenue collection and
ensuring comprehensive data reconciliation.

The process is user-friendly: citizens generate a challan
through a web portal, visit BoK branches to pay the relevant duty mentioned on
the challan, and receive an e-stamp certificate on the spot from the same
branch. This innovative approach aligns with the government’s vision to
leverage digital solutions for the convenience of the public and to modernize
administrative processes.
