State Bank briefs visiting students on Islamic Banking
A group of first and
second year students of Jamia-tul-Madina Faizan-e-Madina specializing in
jurisprudence and Islamic finance visited State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) headquarters in
in
Karachi.
The delegation led by Central
Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Member Mufti Ali Asghar was given a detailed briefing on
SBP’s regulations and infrastructure of the Islamic banks.
The delegation also
visited the State Bank Museum, where they were briefed on the history of currency
and use of money in different civilizations.
They were also shown
tools used for lucky draws before the advent of digital system besides
Pakistan's first Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and note shredding machine.
At the end, each
participant of the delegation was gifted a packet, containing small blocks and
paperweights made from shredded bank notes.
