Bank Alfalah’s annual
profit sees 27pc jump amid rise in forex income
Bank Alfalah Ltd. announced on Thursday a 27 percent increase in
its annual profits for the period ending on December, 31, 2022.
According
to consolidated financial results shared with the Pakistan Stock Exchange
(PSX), the bank declared PKR 18.4 billion for the year
as compared with PKR
14.46 billion a year ago.
The bank announced PKR 10.38 as earning per share for 2022 as
compared with PKR 8.12 in the previous year.
The jump in profit of the bank can be attributed to sharp increase
in foreign exchange income during the period. The foreign exchange income of
the bank rose to PKR 9.22 billion in the year 2022 when compared with PKR 4.13
billion in the last year.
