Closure of banking
channels with Iran, Afghanistan hampering trade
The closure of legal
banking channels of Iran and Afghanistan is obstructing Pakistan’s trade with
these countries.
According to FBR, the
banking channels of these two major regional trading partners of Pakistan are
closed under international laws. Under the legal arrangements, Pakistan cannot trade
through normal banking channels with Iran and Afghanistan.
Now, Pakistan can
trade with Iran and Afghanistan through barter exchange of goods or use Hawala
Hundi which is also not permitted.
