SBP agrees to issue license to Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir  

Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Jameel Ahmed has agreed in principle to issue a license to Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (BAJK).

The agreement came during a meeting of the Governor SBP with Chairman Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Khan Abdul Majid Khan and President/CEO Khawar Saeed.

The central bank governor  praised the performance of Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (BAJK) and the steps taken by it to achieve Scheduled Bank status.

Khan Abdul Majid Khan, who is also Azad Kashmir Minister for Finance, apprised the SBP Governor the importance of BAJK in the state economy, the association and interest of overseas Kashmiri diaspora with the institution.

The Chairman further said that the Bank of AJK needs the development and patronage of the Federal Government.
