Bank of China branch opens in Islamabad
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced that the Bank of China,
along with ICBC and other Chinese commercial banks, provided crucial support to
Pakistan during challenging times in the past year. He expressed his delight to
attend the historic opening ceremony of the Bank of China's branch in
Islamabad.
Minister Dar highlighted that Pakistan has overcome turbulent
times and is now on a path of growth and stability. He expressed optimism about
the strengthening economic and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China in
the future.
Regarding the Renminbi (RMB), Minister Dar mentioned that it is
on its way to becoming an internationally recognized parallel currency, with
five countries (BRICS) already formalizing its adoption, and more countries
showing interest.
Minister Dar shared that Pakistan is already benefiting from the
RMB and during his recent visit to China with the Prime Minister, he requested
the Chinese President to further enhance the use of RMB.
He also expressed confidence that the benefits of the China-Pakistan
Economic Corridor (CPEC) will eventually reach the common people in the coming
years.
