Banking operations in Pakistan to halt for three days
Banks and financial institutions throughout Pakistan are gearing
up for a three-day cessation of operations.
This decision results from a combination of the usual weekly
holidays and a special occasion.
Typically, Friday serves as the conclusion of the business week
for most banks, ushering in the weekend. However, this week's timetable will
encompass an extended pause due to the convergence of multiple significant
events.
The regular weekly holidays of Saturday and Sunday will be
followed by Monday, August 14, which has been designated as a national holiday
in honor of Independence Day.
During this timeframe, a limited number of bank branches will
remain functional on Saturday to address pressing banking requirements. Yet,
it's essential to recognize that the majority of bank branches will remain
closed on Saturday.
Banking operations are anticipated to resume their usual course
on Tuesday.
