In a recent communication from the Cabinet Division, it has been declared that there will be a bank holiday on January 1, 2024, signaling the commencement of the New Year.

The three-day closure will span from Saturday to Monday, offering a short break for the public. It's essential to be aware that although banks will be closed for regular transactions, employees are expected to adhere to their normal work schedules.

This annual bank holiday has been established to facilitate the closing of accounts, ensuring a seamless transition into the new fiscal year. The notification from the Cabinet Division details the public and optional holidays for 2024, with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) expected to issue a corresponding notification shortly.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of another recent bank holiday on December 25th, commemorating Quaid-e-Azam Day. As the nation observes these occasions, normal bank operations will resume promptly on the specified dates.
