Pakistan Banks’ Association (PBA) names Muneer Kamal as its
new CEO
The Pakistan Banks’ Association (PBA) has named Muneer Kamal
as its new CEO and Secretary General, succeeding Tawfiq A. Hussain, who retired
on March 31, 2024, after a distinguished tenure of more than a decade.
Tawfiq Hussain's visionary leadership and unwavering
commitment to excellence have significantly elevated the PBA's stature,
establishing it as a foremost industry body in Pakistan. Following Hussain's
retirement, Muneer Kamal was unanimously chosen by the PBA Executive Committee
to take on the mantle of CEO and Secretary General, effective April 1, 2024.

Masud assumes Chairmanship of Pakistan Banks Association
With over forty years of experience in the banking sector,
Muneer Kamal brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to his new role. He
commenced his career with Citibank Pakistan and has since held various senior
positions in both local and international financial institutions, including
serving as President & CEO of Faysal Bank and Union Bank.
Muneer Kamal holds an MBA degree from the Institute of
Business Administration, Karachi, and boasts a diverse portfolio of Corporate
Governance experience. He has held prominent positions such as Chairman of the
Pakistan Stock Exchange, Chairman of the National Bank of Pakistan, and
Director of Engro Corp and DH Corp. Additionally, he serves on the boards of
Infra Zamin Pakistan, GSK Pakistan, Jubilee Life Insurance, National Clearing
Company of Pakistan (NCCPL), and is a member of the Board of Governors of the
National University of Medical Sciences.
