The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly nearing the final stages of a landmark deal to sell the naming rights of Lahore's iconic Gaddafi Stadium to the Bank of Punjab.

As per local media reports, the agreement will see the stadium rebranded to reflect the bank's identity for the next five years.

This move is part of PCB's strategy to enhance revenue through strategic commercial partnerships, following global trends where sports venues collaborate with major corporations for mutual benefits.

The rebranding of Gaddafi Stadium mirrors a similar initiative in 2022, when Karachi's National Stadium was renamed National Bank Cricket Arena, and later National Bank Stadium, under a five-year agreement with the National Bank of Pakistan.

This naming rights deal is expected to provide a significant financial boost to the PCB, supporting the advancement of cricket development across the country.

The deal aligns with PCB's broader strategy to capitalize on commercial opportunities within the sport.
