Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif urges banks to allocate 40% of loans to SMEs  

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed banks to allocate at least 40% of their loans to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to promote small businesses and foster economic growth.

Speaking at the concluding session of the two-day National Youth Convention in Islamabad on Wednesday, the prime minister encouraged the youth to engage with SMEs as a pathway to economic empowerment and skill development.

He emphasized that the youth are the key to Pakistan’s progress, and the government is fully committed to empowering them. The prime minister highlighted the government's efforts to utilize all available resources to support young people in realizing their potential for the nation's prosperity.

Shahbaz Sharif also stressed the importance of national unity and adherence to the Constitution, describing it as the binding force that holds the country together as a cohesive entity.

He called on all political forces to work in harmony with the country's constitutional institutions, within the framework of the Constitution, to ensure Pakistan's progress.

The prime minister also acknowledged Pakistan’s relentless struggle against terrorism, noting the sacrifice of over 70,000 Pakistanis in this fight. He praised the security forces and law enforcement agencies for their steadfastness in combating terrorism.
