World Bank to assist Pakistan to tackle smog issue 

Pakistan and the World Bank have agreed to collaborate on addressing the smog issue through joint efforts. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and World Bank Country Director Najy Benhassine in Islamabad.

A joint team from the World Bank and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) will be formed to develop a comprehensive anti-smog plan.

Interior Minister Naqvi welcomed the World Bank’s support in improving Islamabad’s air quality, emphasizing proactive measures to combat smog. He mentioned that the installation of anti-smog machines in the capital is under consideration.

Naqvi also highlighted the government's commitment to upgrading slums and rural areas, with clean water and sanitation being key priorities in their development agenda.
