Banks to operate six hours a day during Ramadan

For public dealings, banks will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
 

Banking hours changed for Ramadan

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced revised banking hours for the holy month of Ramadan to align with the fasting schedule.

According to the official statement, banks will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. without a break from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, working hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

For public dealings, banks will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, while Friday services will conclude at 12:30 p.m. These revised hours will apply to all commercial banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks throughout Ramadan, confirmed an SBP spokesperson.

In addition to banking hours, the Establishment Division has also adjusted the work schedule for federal government offices.

Five-day workweek: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Six-day workweek: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Fridays: All offices will close by 12:30 p.m. for Jumu’ah prayers.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways has updated its reservation office hours for offices operating in two shifts:

Morning Shift: 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Evening Shift: 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Fridays: A prayer break from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Reservation offices working on a single shift will continue with their existing schedules. These adjustments will remain in effect until the 15th of Ramadan, after which normal hours will resume.

Citizens are encouraged to plan their banking and administrative tasks accordingly and utilize online banking services to avoid any inconvenience.
