Faysal Bank introduces guide to help promote inclusive banking

Faysal Bank, a prominent name among Pakistan’s Islamic banks, has introduced the country’s inaugural Inclusive Communication Guide. Created in partnership with the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business (CERB) under the Pakistan Business Council’s umbrella, this pioneering guide aims to foster respectful, inclusive, and sensitive language within workplace cultures. It marks a groundbreaking step toward setting national standards for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

The launch event in Karachi brought together leaders from the business world, DEI champions, industry experts, and inclusivity partners to celebrate a shared vision of workplaces where every individual’s voice is recognized and valued. The guide is available in both English and Braille, underscoring its commitment to accessibility and the standardization of inclusive language throughout corporate Pakistan.

Designed as a practical toolkit, the guide supports employees and leaders in engaging thoughtfully and respectfully with diverse groups—ranging from women and persons with disabilities to marginalized communities. It reflects a larger mission to build sustainable, inclusive workplaces grounded in belonging and accessibility.

Speaking at the event, Yousaf Hussain, President & CEO of Faysal Bank, remarked, “Inclusion starts with language. The words we use reveal our intentions and values. This guide is more than just a document; it’s a pledge to communicate with empathy, honor diversity, and cultivate environments where everyone feels seen and heard. We hope it becomes a valuable resource not only within Faysal Bank but across Pakistan’s corporate sector.”

Ehsan Malik, CEO of the Pakistan Business Council, also praised the initiative: “Inclusion is no longer just a trend; it’s essential for business success. This guide sets a powerful example of how inclusive culture begins with purposeful communication. We applaud Faysal Bank for taking the lead and urge other organizations to adopt and tailor this guide for their own workplaces.”

The Inclusive Communication Guide represents a significant milestone in Faysal Bank’s DEI journey. By sharing this resource beyond its own walls, the Bank aims to inspire a ripple effect, encouraging the wider business community to embrace a more inclusive and mindful workplace culture across Pakistan.
