Ministry of Religious Affairs refunds payments to pilgrims through
banks
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has
disbursed funds to designated banks for the prompt refund of pilgrims'
payments.
Spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt confirmed this move on Saturday,
underlining the government's unwavering commitment to facilitating a seamless
process for the repayment of funds.
He revealed that all esteemed pilgrims have been notified of the
refund procedure through messages, offering them reassurance and clarity. This
step was taken to keep the pilgrims well-informed and updated about the
progress of their refund, he added.
The payment process is set to commence through the designated
banks in the upcoming week, as highlighted by the spokesperson.
Umar Butt emphasized the significance of expediting the
reimbursement process and ensuring that the designated banks provide the
pilgrims with convenience and efficiency.
He stated that pilgrims are poised to receive refunds ranging
from RS.97,000 to Rs.132,000. Additionally, in relation to sacrificial
contributions, a sum of Rs.55,000 has already been refunded, showcasing the
ministry's commitment to transparent and punctual financial transactions.
To address concerns and gather input, the ministry has also
engaged with participants of private pilgrimage schemes, seeking their opinions
and grievances. This involvement of private scheme pilgrims underscores the
government's dedication to a comprehensive and inclusive approach, as
highlighted by Umar Butt.
The spokesperson noted that the ministry has acknowledged
reported disparities in tour operator services and amenities. Complaints
related to these matters will be accepted until August 18th, as the ministry
strives to rectify any issues and ensure a high standard of service for future
pilgrimages.
In an effort to enhance communication, the spokesperson revealed
that the ministry has initiated Short Message Service (SMS) notifications for
participants in private schemes.
As part of ongoing endeavors, the spokesperson underlined the
ministry's commitment to thoroughly investigate and resolve grievances raised
by pilgrims against Hajj Group Organizers. This approach reflects the
ministry's dedication to addressing concerns and upholding the integrity of the
pilgrimage process.
