Rehmat Ali Hasnie designated as President of National Bank of
Pakistan (NBP)
The Federal Government has designated Rehmat Ali Hasnie as the
President of the National Bank of Pakistan. Hasnie had taken on the role of
Acting President of the National Bank of Pakistan in May 2022, and during this
tenure, the bank achieved the distinction of becoming Pakistan's largest and
most robust financial institution.
He was bestowed with the esteemed
title of CEO of the Year by the CEO Club Pakistan
Hasnie's association with NBP dates back to 2010, during which
time he has overseen areas such as investment banking, corporate banking, and
priority sector lending.
Boasting more than 25 years of professional experience, Hasnie's
expertise spans economics research, capital markets, investment banking,
treasury operations, and credit markets. He has held prominent positions across
diverse Pakistani institutions.
With an MA Degree in Development Banking from The American
University (USA), Hasnie is a seasoned financial markets specialist. He also
represents NBP on the Board of the Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company, where
he serves as Chairman.
Additionally, he has contributed as a nominee director of NBP on the boards of entities like Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, First National Bank Modaraba, First Credit & Investment Bank, Agritech Ltd, and Fauji Akbar Portia Marine Terminals.
