Easypaisa not part of Telenor Pakistan's acquisition by PTCL
Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited (TMB) has taken to social
media to clarify its stance amidst Telenor Pakistan's acquisition by Pakistan
Telecommunication Company Limited (PSX: PTC).
Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited has emphasized that
neither the bank nor its flagship platform, easypaisa, is involved in the
aforementioned transaction.

The institution assured its customers that their deposits
are secure and guaranteed, emphasizing that the recent development will have no
adverse effects on them. TMB and easypaisa operate as an independent financial
entity, holding licenses and adhering to regulations set forth by the State
Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
TMB is a collaborative effort between Telenor B.V. and Ant
Group, both dedicated and committed shareholders actively contributing to the
ongoing transformation of the bank from a Microfinance Bank to a Digital Retail
Bank, pending regulatory approvals.

Additionally, TMB urged its customers to dismiss any
