BISP aims to expand collaboration with banks for transparent
payments: Dr. Saqib
The Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme
(BISP), Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib, has stressed the importance of a transparent
payment system. He announced plans to engage the services of more than 15 banks
to facilitate efficient and transparent payments to registered beneficiaries.
During a significant visit to Karachi, Dr. Saqib conducted a
comprehensive evaluation of the payment disbursement center and the BISP
regional headquarters in the city, as per a news release.
The visit included a high-level meeting attended by BISP
board members, such as Dr. Kaiser Bengali, Mr. Haris Gazdar, Barrister Ayesha
Tammy Haq (via zoom), DG NSER Naveed Akbar, DG Sindh Riaz Soomro, and DG MCO
Zulfiqar Sheikh, among other officials.

Dr. Amjad Saqib proposed the initiation of training programs
for staff and officers to enhance their individual performance, contributing to
the overall efficiency of the program. The meeting considered several proposals
in line with the future vision of BISP. Dr. Saqib emphasized, "BISP is the
largest social safety net program of Pakistan, and we are committed to ensuring
that the benefits reach the deserving recipients with transparency."
DG NSER Naveed Akbar provided insights into the Kafaalat and
Nashonuma programs, emphasizing the Dynamic Registry procedure. He mentioned
that around 6 million people across the country have been surveyed through
dynamic registration centers.

Furthermore, he highlighted the expansion of the stipend
disbursement procedure to include additional banks, ensuring financial support
for over 2 million beneficiaries.
