Governor Jameel Ahmad of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) inaugurated the Japanese pottery exhibition titled 'Yakishime -- Earth Metamorphosis' at the State Bank Museum. The exhibition, jointly organized with the State Bank Museum and the Pakistan Japan Cultural Association (PJCA) Sindh, spans two weeks and showcases over 80 pieces of yakishime, a ceramic technique involving high-temperature firing of unglazed wares.

Governor Ahmad highlighted the enduring cultural ties between Pakistan and Japan, stemming from the Cultural Agreement signed in 1957, and the historical collaboration between the financial institutions of both countries.

Consul General of Japan, Hattori Masaru, expressed delight at the Pakistani audience's interest in Japanese culture and pledged to continue bringing cultural exchange programs to strengthen bilateral relations. The exhibition, running until February 7, offers the people of Pakistan a unique opportunity to experience the Japanese sensibility and aesthetic associated with yakishime.
