Arif appointed as IFC Country Manager for the Philippines
The International Finance
Corporation (IFC), the private sector financing arm of the World Bank Group,
has appointed Pakistani banker Amena Arif as its new country manager for the
Philippines. Arif succeeds Jean-Marc Arbogast, who has transitioned to a new
role as the World Bank Group’s country manager for Chile.
In her new role, Amena will focus on
mobilizing private sector investments to create jobs, mitigate the effects of
climate change, and promote financial inclusion in the Philippines, according
to an IFC statement.
“IFC is committed to working with
our partners in the Philippines to unlock funding that will create jobs, help
businesses address climate challenges, support small business growth, and
ensure digital services are accessible to all,” Arif said.
