Punjab government's digital payment platform collects record Rs754 billion tax
The Punjab government has achieved a
record-breaking milestone, collecting over Rs754 billion in tax revenue through
its digital payment platform, e-Pay Punjab.
Developed jointly by the Punjab
Finance Department and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), e-Pay
Punjab has revolutionized public tax payments by facilitating more than 83
million digital transactions to date.
This achievement was highlighted
during a recent progress review meeting chaired by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf.
It was shared that citizens can now pay 87 different taxes and levies from 18
departments directly from home, eliminating the need to visit government
offices.

The platform’s growing popularity is
reflected in its user base—over 5.6 million people have downloaded the e-Pay
Punjab mobile app, showcasing the public's growing trust in digital
governance.
Speaking at the meeting, Faisal
Yousaf said, “e-Pay Punjab has proven to be a citizen-centric solution
that enhances transparency, streamlines revenue collection, and spares citizens
from unnecessary trips and intermediaries. We are committed to continuously
expanding the platform’s capabilities to make government payments even more
efficient and accessible.”
